Frequently asked questions

Do we need to glue the belly seals?

No, you don't. The seal has 2 small protrusions which interlock with 2 indentations in the groove of the body. This form-fit allows you to install the seal without glue and guarantees a perfect placement.

When should the belly seals be replaced?

Depending on the amount of active running hours, every 3 to 6 months the belly seals should be replaced. (Make sure to also replace all the other spare parts, the costs average around €170,- €250,- depending on the size of the PTD).

What are the different material sealing options for the static version of the PTD?

Currently we only have the option for silicone belly seals.

Can we replace the seals in situ or must the diverter valve be removed from the system?

This all depends on your specific situation. It is possible to exchange the seals without disengaging them from the rest of the conveying system. However, you need to have access to both sides of the PTD. Only 1 end cover needs to be removed, but you also need to remove the bearing cover from the other side.

Can we change the seals from static to inflatable seal?

If you have ordered a PTD with the option “inflatable seal ready” you can upgrade the PTD with an upgrade kit to a full version with inflatable seals. Please contact our Aftersales team for more information.

Are there any recommended spare parts for PTD’s?

Yes! Items such as:

  • Silicone belly seals (static) or belly seal assemblies (inflatable)
  • Bearings
  • Lip seals
  • Lock plates
  • O-rings for the end cover
Can the position sensors be installed on the other side of the PTD?

Yes, the end covers have threaded holes on either side allowing for a quick switch of the position sensors. For more information please refer to the manual.

Can a non ATEX diverter valve be upgraded to ATEX certified equipment and how?

Yes, it can! Please contact our Aftersales team for more information.
